Anyone going to have eggs hatch in novemeber?

Hi everyone! I'm new to all of this chicken stuff. LOL! I have 5 kids and we want to start becoming self-sustainable so I decided chickens would be a fantastic plus for us! My new coop is coming in about 3 weeks and I have new lovely eggs currently on their 1st day of being turned today! I am nervous and super excited because this is a world that I've only imagined doing, never thought it would become a reality!! :)

Here are my babies!

what kinda eggs you got there? do you know the breeds?

Despite the high temp I just had a 100% hatch.  I'm pysched because I thought I had killed them all with the high temp.  Even the one I thought was a quitter hatched.

Next hatch the 21st  :)
congrats! I had the high temp thing happen too. I thought for sure I had made fried eggs at the end of the first week when I looked at the temp and it was around 106-108! I'm just using a box curtained off with a heat light. No one hatched on hatch day (friday the 9th) so I waited until Sunday when I just anxiety got the best of me and cracked 1. I figured they were all dead, at least see why the 1 I thought didn't go past wk 2 died. It looked like it cooked so in dismay I got another egg that looked different when candled and made no scratching noises. I'm a murderer:-( It was alive, about day 18/19 developed and could've hatched if I'd left it alone! The other eggs are still under the light at least until wednesday, day 26. I don't have the heart to murder again and may not incubate again until I keep my patience:)

Yes incubation failure particularly late in the game can be heartbreaking. But it is so much fun when you get fuzzy butts. I have a few under me now and the first couple I wasn't as good as I should have been. I find I'm in situations alot where an assisted hatch is needed but I'm getting better at my technique so my hatch rate is going up. I just had the 100% again this time less impressive cause it was only one egg (but that is 100% or 0% so I'm phsyched it came out 100% :). I must have stuck one of my first full size broiler eggs in there to see if it was fertile and how it would hatch. Well I discovered yesterday pipped in my dry hatch incubator, so I had to go in and stop the shrink wrap since nobody I know thinks 35% humidity is good for external pipping. He hatched his morning without any blood and is looking good so again I'm phsyched. Made me take a careful stock on my eggs in the incubator and made me realize I have 8 eggs due next weekend. So I"m hatching the 18th, 21st, 25th. Love this staggered hatch, I have to get better at the organization of it. this little guy had to go into an hatcher I hadn't had a chance to get stable.

had to remove the first chick as it was playing bowls with the other eggs , here is a pic frizzle x silkie

That's sad to hear. Are the blue ones EE's or ameraucanas? I like seeing all the success stories of those hatching before me, gets me excited for the little chicks.
Do you by chance play xbox? I ask because during our last hatch we had a few quitters. It was during this same time our xbox got the "red ring of death". So when the kids were helping me candle I explained the ring we seen on the inside of the eggs meant the babies had died at some point. We cracked them open and they were fascinated by the red ring of death they saw lining the inside of the shell, lol. I'm glad our family isn't the only ones to use that type of terminology. My coworkers would probably think I'm crazy!
Ameraucanas, and no i don't play xbox. lol, I just call it the red ring of death because it's a red ring and means they died.

Just had 10 Silkies hatch over the weekend! :) So excited! I have 4 white, 1 red, 1 splash, 2 blue, and 2 black! One of the whites needed help out of the egg, but is now doing fine. The Splash hatched with splay leg, but I'm treating it and it is doing well! Good luck on the Nov. hatches everyone! By spring they'll all be laying!!!
