Anyone had any issues with coops from Omlet???

Is the coop big enough for all your eight girls to sleep with room to spare?

Hey... hold on there sugar.
No money with out a look see.
There is some italian phrase that goes here " "
can't remember it, but take a good look before saying yes.
I'm a handy person and get pallets cheep, so I don't have your issues.
Think creatively; wooden crates, pallets, old wood playsets, kid's payhouses, garden sheds, old decks or porches, old cars, campers, dog houses, rabbit pens, bed frames, dressers with the drawers removed, etc. you can think of something cheeper.
Good luck.

As far as space goes the cube is plenty big for 8.
Omlet says it can do 10, and I think there would be room to spare.

The little run would be real tight for 10, crowded for my 8,
but we let them out to roam in the yard all day so that's not an issue.

I don't have any experience with the eglu.
We wanted more than 3 chickens and it sits on the
ground meaning I would have to bend down or get on the ground to clean it.
The cube is raised so the cleaning etc can all be done without bending.
That had much appeal to me. The costs of bending increase as one accumulates
many years of wear and tear.

For some reason, when ever anyone so much as mentions the eglu, lots of negative reviews come from folks who don't have one. I actually own an eglu cube. I understand that there are many crafty folks here who can make anything out of anything but I am not one of those people. I had to buy something prefab and I found after tons of research that basically all prefab coops are priced pretty high. Any way it's no ones business what you want to spend your money on so if you want it, go for it! But here is my review:

Predator proof: the eglu cube is excellent, EXCELLENT in this department. The run is predator deterrent. You would need to make some adjustments. I found the run to be a tad cheaply made.

Design: I love the design. It is SO EASY to keep clean. But there is one flaw and that is that the chooks can perch on the entrance to the nestbox. It is the only flaw in my opinion. Also, just so everyone knows, the coop the OP wants to get is the cube which is not on the ground but up on wheeled legs.

Space: I have three large fowl and ten bantams. There is room for more, honestly. BUT, I live in a mild climate and also have a large covered walk-in-run for them. They only use the coop to roost at night or lay eggs. For those who live in very cold or hot places this coop just won't work in my opinion; too small.

I'll think of more, but I think it would be totally fine for what you want. Good luck! What a fun way to use christmas cash!!!

I don't have a Cube (they hadn't been invented when I first started keeping chickens

but I do have a classic.

I had a wooden coop as an isolation wing. The chickens in the wooden coop were taken by Mr Fox. The chickens in the Eglu were safe (I could see a claw mark on the Eglu where Foxy had made a very determined effort to get access!)

They are expensive - best viewed as a long term investment - but, they are worth it, IMO.

As for how many can fit it, I have had 12 chickens all squeeze into one Eglu (their choice!

) but I've managed to train them to be more sensible

It is the run space which is the real issue. I bought a WIR (I'm not handyman) to cater to my little flock and the Eglus sit in there.

and what is a WIR?

Welcome from me too, Mum!

A WIR is a walk-in-run (tall enough so a human can walk in).
