Thanks tnlorprazer! I don't know how I am going to sleep tonight, and I have to go to work in the morning!

I can't believe how nervous I am.

I checked my pipped egg at 2:30 and again this morning - no progress. I wonder if something happened. I think I see it moving. I hope I'm not imagining things. You know, you stare at an egg long enough through the plexiglass and pretty soon it's wobbling for you and everything. Then, you blink, and it hasn't moved at all. I do hear peeping. No other pips that I could see.

I had a dream that when I woke up, the top of the incubator was pushed aside and the masking tape I had put on the edges to remind me not to open it was torn. There about twelve little chicks in there that had hatched and they were all , about six inches tall. One had twisted ibex horns growing straight up and his horns had moved the top of the bator. I had to get them all out, because there were still more eggs to go. But my brooder wasn't completely ready - that's today's job. Oh, such worries! I am still wondering about the lineage of the ibex horned chick, though.

sending good hatching vibes your way.
Well I am at four chicks so far this morning and 7 more have pipped out of 14 eggs so we are finally having a good hatch.
I will try to get some pictures up later today. (After I have had my collee)

Looks like my marans hatch is a bust thanks to the temp spike that happened when the dogs unplugged the fans...

No movement, no sound, nothing. I'll let em roll another couple of days but I don't think there's any real hope.

They all hatched with no problems between 4:30 and 7:00 this morning. They are drying in incubator right now, but I will get better pictures later when they are all dry.

Here is my first ever hatchling:

Pipping can be explained as the "first pecks in the egg shell". Zipping is when they are working themselves out of the shell. Hope that explained it a little bit.

Thank you so much! This is what I thought pipping was, but zipping is a new term for me. I just love this forum.
