I will definatly keep you updated. Once i get the chicks out of the incubator i will take pics.
9 days now, and they are getting BIG! i can see them moving.
One egg is a silkie and and i put it in there 1 day after i put the others in. will this affect this egg if the other eggs are hatching and it isnt?

I have chicks due then! i put my eggs in 6am on the second of July so around there i'm expecting a dozen bcm chicks and five barnyard mix from our hens and our EE rooster. Then the week after that ten bcm chicks. But of the dozen bcm yesturday i noticed one looked like it had gunk on the bottom tried to take it out of the turner but it was stuck it was weeping at the gunk dried to the turner so a few squirts with a squirt bottle and it was out without breaking and two others look to be infertile.

I don't think it will make that much of a difference. I candled mine a couple days ago and I saw chicks moving in mine!

I candled mine last night and out of the 15 Ameraucana eggs I think only 1 is developing. Mother Nature was working against me on this hatch...

milleryardchx- Yuck! Good thing that egg didnt explode or it could have hurt the other eggs....

tnlorprazer- That sucks.. But dont feel bad, one time that i incubated out of 30 eggs only 3 hatched and one ended up dying because it was stuck to the shell and then one of the other ones died of a fox attack and luckily the other is still alive.. and ended up being a roo which i did fall in love with but he is picked on because he isnt the head roo anymore.
So hopefully you will at least have one chooky!

I've been out and about the last couple of days running errands and visiting with the M-I-L & S-I-L.

My batch in the bator will be on their 18th day tomorrow so after the 3rd turn they'll be on lock down.

I did however buy me 12 Black Australorp Chicks today. They are between 2-3 weeks old. And I got 24 more Australorp eggs to put in the bator. I'm determined to have a good hatch...
