Anyone hatching Dec 14th? Looking for hatching buddies for 1st hatch!

I look forward to seeing all the fuzzy baby pics next week! Glad there are so many of us all "due" at the same time!

well, my fuzzy butts are on lockdown now, I gave them a third digital thermometer/hydrometer as the one that was possibly breaking now very much is broken. Infact, after lockdown half the screen on the other digital thermometer suddenly stopped functioning completely. Though temps are still showing very erratic on the new one. When I left for work 95, when I came home for lunch 101.7 .... when I got off work... 104 *headdesk* Please hope for my babies

They should hatch the 9th...

Odd question. Is it possible by the way for.. say.. two eggs out of seven to not develop as quickly as the other five?... Like... when I candled before lockdown, two of the eggs were very much still alive. I saw them move but they are significantly less developed than the other five(I thought they were quitters before) :x All the same breed, all put in the same day, all from the same breeder and package... very very odd.. I have no other incubator so they're going to have to sit tight through this hatch unfortunately.

Oh, I am sooo excited. We candled today and I watched two of them moving around. 1 looks like a quitter and I don't think the other one was even fertile. Oh well, at least it looks like I might get two. Then I have 4 more I put in that will be due the 19th, only one looks to be developing.

Hi, OK I got my 14 Cockoo Marans eggs on Saturday, one was cracked. I put them in the bator on Saturday night. Does that make day 1, Sunday? I marked them and have turned them three times today. My bator was supposed to come with a auto turner, but it did not arrive at the same time. So, if I get the turner, I can put them in it right? I guess they are due the 27th.

Well today makes it officially 2 weeks for my Jerseys....I candled last night and was surprised at how large the feather balls are growing! They seem to be too big for their shell now and their movements are more subtle as they don't have room to wiggle. My one White Jersey quit last week sometime, it seemed like a runt to begin with and it's shape didn't change since I candled last week. So it appears that I have, as of this evening, 4 B/B/S Jerseys out of the 6 I purchased.
Oh yes, I bought a rabbit hutch on Craigslist and it's dimensions are 68" Wide by 48 " Deep.....is that enough space for 4 large birds?
Lockdown is officially Dec 10th.......can't wait!!

Does turning them cool them down? I try to be fast. Also, I am not too sure about how much water should be in the bator. Do I need a humidity temp gauge? Thanks!!

turn them up to lockdown and I would purchase a hygrometer quick....I'm going to go out and buy an analog one as the digital one I have is not accurate..the manual ones are easier to calibrate.

Remaining 9 still looking good over here. We peeked tonight and saw all 9 moving. Two were slow to move....which made me hold my breath for a few seconds....but at last they wiggled around. They are getting big which is making them much harder to see though. Very exciting. LD will start late on the 11th!! Praying for sweet little peeps for everyone!
