Anyone hatching Dec 14th? Looking for hatching buddies for 1st hatch!

I concur. I believe I saw movement for sure around day 5. I didn't expect it as soon as it occurred so when it did it scared the day lights out of me. Here i was turning them and taking a quick glimpse at one when this little ALIVE THING wriggled at me <3 Nearly had a heart attack. Unfortunately after that point I was flung miserably into worrying mother hen mode anything goes off for even a minute (like one degree too cold or too hot) I fret that my babies died

YEE HAW!! There are very bouncy chicks inside their shells!! I was a little apprehensive to candle, I was expecting to not see anything ...but there are really active chicks inside!
They had no problem sliding around, even wiggling to the side....it was beautiful! I have never had children so this is the closest thing to an ultrasound for me! I am so proud!
Out of the 6 Splash Jersey Giants, there are definitely 4 alive and kicking....there is one that isn't as active and one egg that is so darn dark that I can only see a dark shadow inside.
Out of the 5 White Jersey Giants, there is one active and a possible runt...at least it seemed kind of smaller than the others, but then again I set the Whites in a day after the Splash.

I'll post a photo of one of the Splash as soon as I figure out how to post photos!!

Awwww....congrats on the little wigglers! I am with Rin, I have become totally obsessed with the temp etc. As the cold temps take a dip at night it takes me a bit to get the temp to stable off where I want it prior to going to bed. So yes, I have been staying up a little late.

Maybe the more times I hatch this obsession will go away?? Or maybe it will just get worse. LOL!

I candled again last night as well. 3 of 4 of my bantam eggs are looking good. My kids get such a kick out of seeing the babies moving. I am with you 4CrazyGirlz I am obsessed with temp and humidity now.

I am obsessd with the temp and humidity too.. so you can amagine how worried i am right now.. My incubator is going nuts and wont stay in the 99 degree like it had for 24 hours befor i put eggs in

i am just hoping they are all ok!

Okay candled mine, looks like 11 White Rocks are good, some I couldn't see very well, but I think they are good. 13 Cornish bantams are good. Yippie!

Sounds like everyone is doing well.....except for those of us who are obsessing and losing sleep because of the temp and humidity. LOL!!

I woke up at 4 am last night, because I was hot. I thought "My Eggs!!!".....ran in there and looked at the temp..."whew" holding steady at 99.5. My last hatch i didn't have a fan so my temps would jump around quite a bit. I'm having to get use to this fan thing, the temps never jump more than a 1/2 degree. Soooo cool!

LOL!!

So glad I am not the only one. I think I am going to have to upgrade my incubator already. This was suppose to just be something I did as a project, but it seems this project is quickly turning into a hobby. Oops!
