Awww...
they are so pretty, and look so happy to be outside!!! I am thinking about ordering from Bargain as well, this helps make up my mind,
Thanks for sharing the pics!!!
Your babies are beautiful.
How warm is it where you are in GA? I am not sure when it will warm enough again here. It could be months before it will warm enough for the babies to go out to the coop here. Nancy was very nice to work with, and the shipping was speedy, given that the eggs came all the way to the West Coast.
Thank you
I got my Silkie eggs from Bargain also. I got a total of 17 eggs, and by the end of the first week I had 5 clears. So I went with the 12 eggs left. I am not sure what happened, but only 5 hatched. The other seven died shortly before the hatch date. The 7 eggs all had large air pockets, when I candled them at the end of lock down. I think that it looked like there was a problem about the time I put them into lock down. I even borrowed my DSiL's new
Brinsea bator. Now I am praying that nothing like this happens with the JG eggs that have just about a week and a half to go. I need to move the JGs back into the
Brinsea. I moved them into the Hovabator, during the lock down. I was worried about the higher humidity on the eggs that had only been in the bator for a week. I won the JGs at a raffle that was held at a local chicken show. They are show quality Jersey Giants. I have no idea what I am going to do with the JGs, they are really to big for my sub-division back yard.
I don't know why I do this to myself.
Here is another picture of Tulay and one of the chicks that she is brooding for me. She now makes a lot more sense. I bought her at the chicken show, but it's not like I can show her. Tulay's color is not accepted yet. But she is so pretty, and DH didn't even argue.
He even figured out how to get the cash to buy Tulay.
But now I can tell him that she isn't a house chicken, but that she is an indoor brooder.
And 40.00 for an indoor brooder is a pretty good deal to me.
Some of this makes up for the fact that he has spent the last week and a half in Hawaii working, while I am sitting in the cold with it getting colder as I type this.
