Love me some CJ's! I took mine outside for the first time today. They have been in the coop for a couple weeks. They LOVED playing in the dirt and laying in the sun!

What kind of geese do you have? Any advice on them as babies?

I have Two White Chinese One French Toulouse and One Black African The first three are females and the last is my gander. My advice is don't leave the tub running and leave the room

They are very loud as adults so start getting them used to a calming word. We use "shhhhh" I also have a panic word that brings them to me in danger - I use "Pate"

This is my first try hatching eggs ever! My eggs are due to hatch on January 21st, 2012. I have a home-made incubator made out of a tray of water, and a lightbulb hanging over the edge of a cardboard box. My 12 eggies are from TJ's, their fertile eggs. Will they hatch? Probably not. Will I be excited anyways? Yes!

I had to share this pic of my sweet bantam cochin wearing her new shoe! She was born with crocked toes, so I made her a shoe. I sent my son and his girlfriend to get bandaids and she bought hello kitty ones.

If this peep is a girl her name will be Kitty!!

I just set my first eggs ever from my small Araucana flock. This is both to have first generation birds, and to see if they are fertile! Only eight eggs, collected over four days. The last egg was laid today (I just collected it, it was warm from the chicken!) so I plugged in my incubator. The others were in the incubator with the turner going, so I am quite excited.

T-minus 21 days 'til I hopefully have bootyless (rumpless), tufted babies running around. Since all my hens and roos have tufts, approximately 25% of the chicks will die in shell before hatch, though.
