We have the same set date, but I goofed on when I put quail in and my seramas my hatch on day 19. (That's the average hatch time the Lady I got them from has) So I'll lock down tomorrow night.. I've had quail in the past hatch on day 16! Their time is 16-18 days. So ...you never know with these eggs!

Well I know I mentioned it a ways back in these posts. LOL! I'll take a little of the blame. LOL!

I know what you mean about anxious! My son was asking today when is the last we turn!

I went to the swap meet today and got a great deal on a cage, probably use it for brooder!!

Plastic pan type bottom, wire top several doors to open, kinda like you would keep a rabbit in. About 3' long!!! $15 !!

Can't wait to get it cleaned up and move our two older chicks into it! They are 3 and 4 weeks old and soon to out grow the tupper tote brooder. lol.

I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. Although I worked super hard preparing for my first hatching attempt I was really getting discouraged and after candling the eggs on day 8 and seeing nothing I was pretty much accepting the lesson of not ordering eggs off of ebay as a novice and then expect them to be OK..

On a whim I decided to candle them again and I took all 7 eggs out of the incubator and looked at them one at a time. When I reached egg 6 and put it on the box I saw a heart beating!

So today is day 10 and I know it still has a long way to go and I am not going to get my hopes up but for at least tonight I am thrilled beyond anything!

2 of my silkies didn't make it so there are 8 now. The two that weren't through hatching last night night were gone this morning! I guess I should have helped more but I can't help thinking there was something else wrong. I will take some pics in a few minutes I have to get my darling hubby ready to go to work!!!

This is what I do!!! I have a really bad back and bending over to peer in is really hard so I have a tall bar stool and a soft pillow to lean my arms on

The 3 light ones are serama 2 week old 1 day old the dark is OEGBxSilver Seabrite

The little one looks like it's going to be white any one agree or have another opinion? I haven't had any white babies since my cornish x were little.

Here are just a couple of chic pics

A couple are still in the incubator drying and some were wanting to hide so I didn't get a shot of everyone. When it warms up this afternoon I'll take more pics. The first two chicks (silkie) I hatched did not have the vaulted skulls these do! When they first started to hatch I thought WHAT

but then I realized what it was

They are really beautiful!!! CJ's chics are totally awesome
