SilkieMom I'll definitely take you up on the Welsummers

. They are my favs and I can't keep up with the people who want them

. I have 9 to hatch starting today so

. My blrws from Brent are pipping and a zipping

One is already fluffing and four are pipped and zipping

I have 13 of the BLRWs and two of the Super Secret Mystery eggs that made it to lock down

I did not set them till the evening so it is still early

. I got some more Quail eggs today and my quail cages came yesterday and are just so very awesome here is a pic. I ordered another set today so that will give me 16 cages total. I did not want to order two if they were cheap but after getting the first one I couldn't resist ordering the second. I think I will incorporate them into my Tortoise Room that way they will be protected and I can adjust the lighting for them. If they get 14 hours of light a day they will just keep laying until they molt.

I will remember to send you some when we start collecting!

Lovvve your new cage.....very nice!!! And congrats on all your new chicks and pips!!!

I really hope my hatch goes well this time!!! I realllly want some red silkies!!!

8 eggs left.. most have pips

23 chicks hatched so far



out of my shipped french black copper marans eggs.. I had gotten 18.. out of those 7 were infertile (clear).. 2 more were bad when i checked them this morning. and the remaining 9 have all hatched! (50% hatch rate on shipped eggs)

out of the mutt eggs I set (24) .. 2 of the pullet eggs weren't fertile.. 8 are left (most have pips) ... there are 14 of Jack's sons and daughters pecking at food in the brooder!

I had someone come and pick up silkies today. He took all but 4 of my big girls outside. Those 4 are sold to someone who's picking them up this weekend.

I don't do good with goodbyes

I made him put them up front in his truck, it is WAY to cold for them to be riding in the back. I know he thought I was some crazy bossy chicken women!!!

I am bad with goodbyes too. We just sold one of the first roosters we bought yesterday and I really do miss him. When I tell people that I get the crazy look.

UGH - the wait... Of the 27 I set last month, all were developing at day 10, then about 15 were still looking good last Sunday. Today is hatch day. It will "officially" 21 days about 8 p.m. NOT looking good :-( My daughters & I are running over to peek through the windows every few minutes. So far - nothing. No peeps, no pips, and no noticable movement. Crossing our fingers!! I am so jealous of all of your beautiful babies!!! Congratulations to you all

Ok girls, I need some advise please!!! So I got my eggs from Bargain yesterday, not 1 cracked one, YAY!!!

And the ones you sent me bikerchick are suppose to be delivered tomorrow. I have never done staggered hatches before, and I don't have the incubators for it really, so do you think it would be ok if I wait and set them all on Sunday? Or should I go ahead and set the ones I have??

i have a question i set eggs sunday at 2:00 pm so would feb 5th be my hatch day or the 6th
im confused because when u count from the 15th of jan to the 5th of feb thats 21 days but ive been told they should hatch on the 6th thats technally 22 days
