Anyone HATCHING?!?!? Newbie's and addicts WELCOME!!!! Hatch Calendar page 1!!!!

Several of you have hatched silkies before...do you think my aircells are OK in these pictures? This is Day 19 so they're in lockdown. Oh, and did yours hatch on Day 21?

Your air cells look just right!! My silkies also usually hatch on day 20, they will start pipping sometimes on day 19, I guess because the eggs are so much smaller. Good luck!!

Oh, thank you for commenting on the aircell size. They just are not "textbook" size if you know what I mean. I appreciate your input. Your eggs hatched early! Wow, I'm on Day 20 and haven't seen any pips or even a wiggle from these eggs. I set the eggs at 9am three Fridays ago. So, I'm thinking they'll start hatching around that time tomorrow morning (Friday).

I'm using a still air Hova Bator. My humidity is about 62% and the temperature on top of the eggs is about 100. My aquarium thermometer (at mid-egg level) shows about 98 degrees. Do you think those numbers are good or would you change anything?

My aircells are NEVER textbook, lol. I think it's because my bator doesn't sit them up, they lay on there side the whole time maybe?

Yea my last 2 silkie batches hatched early, I have a R-com20 incubator and it gets them temp and humidity up real fast, that could be why because they never did when I used the LG. You want your temp to be 99-100 so you may want to kick it up a little, if you have had temp drops before you went in lockdown sometimes that will cause them to hatch late, I've had one hatch on day 23 before when I used the LG, so don't give up!

So this is my first hatch and the incubator recs said humidity to be set between 50-60 during incubation. I started that, I'm on day three and don't know yet what the right setting should be. I've gone in and removed some water to lower humidity. It's now at 50. Can someone tell me the exact days to raise/lower temps and humidity? Also, when yall say lockdown what levels etc.exactly are yall meaning? I'm super excited for my lil peeps I have 41 eggs set! Thx for all the help!

Yea you need to get your humidity down to 20-30% until lockdown (lockdown is the last 3 days of incubation when you quit turning your eggs and then get the humidity up to 60-65% close it and don't touch until they start hatching) look at the first page of this thread, it has a hatch calendar I put on here that will help you a whole lot, it did me when I first started. You want your temp to stay at 99-100 the whole time. Good luck hatching and let us know if ya have anymore questions!

I checked the tracking number on my eggs through the post office today, and they're due to be at my door today! I stayed home so I"ll be here when they arrive. I am so excited it's pathetic. Everybody keep your fingers crossed for me. Hopefully I'll have new fuzzy butts soon!

They're HERE! All in perfect condition! 12 cochin eggs! I stayed home so I would be here when they arrived. So I wait until they're room temperature and put them in right? Then tomorrow starts day 1.
