Woo! 3 more white-crested black Polish hatched overnight, so they're in the brooder-box with the other 3!

2 more have pips. I think the rest of the eggs are dead, but I'll leave them another day and see what happens.

Hatch day for me is suppose to be Sunday the 2nd..........took them out of the turner last night because they were rocking ...........LOTS OF CHEEPING CHEEPING CHEEPING going on in there right now!
Hope these babies hatch as the last 4 hatches with my Welsummers have been horrible, I mean horrible only one chick!

Three little chicks peeking out from under my broodie Australorp today. She's been sitting on 11 eggs, so hope to wake up to lots more tomorrow.

My RIR hatched out 7 of 9 mixed eggs. I have RIR, OEGB, and EE with a EE roo. Human errorr- mine

, cost me a chick. Momma gave up on the 9th egg. I took it over, and not having an incubator, I put the egg in a small plastic container on a wet paper towel, covered with plastic, and placed it on top of a heating pad. Put the thermometer right next to it to regulate temp. Last evening it pipped, but upside down. I flipped it over and gave a bit of assistance (thank you so much silkiechicken!), and low and behold- I hatched a chick! I tucked it under momma last night to finish drying. It is 1-2 days behind the rest, but I think it will be all right.

If I hadn't mortally wounded the 8th egg, we would have had 9 out of 9!

I've got 7 silkie babies between yesterday afternoon and this morning. Seven more eggs with no pips. I know they were alive on day 18...hopefully they'll hatch!!

Hatched my first 4 chicks night b4 last and decided I had to help the other 4 as the hen had left them.
Friends told me to leave them to hatch in the airing cupboard so I did and got on the internet. I decided to help them as they had not pipped and found one rotten two dead and I am trying to save the other.
I have slowly chipped it out over the last 5 hours and it is alive but seems weak. It has a little attachment left on it's bum. Anyone think it will be ok now?

I wasn't expecting anything today because as of yesterday we hadn't heard the first peep.

Update-now we have an early bird EE hatchling! 3 more EE pips, and 2 more JG pips.

One of the silkie pips has a bit of bloody at the pip, and hasn't seemed to move in awhile. I hope it's okay.
