Anyone Have A Chinese Water Dragon?

Oh and yes they get sores from rubbing up against the glass and can start to bleed. Its a pain but they are worth it

How old were they when they died? Their lifespan is about 15 years.

Nose rubs are not normal and are usually a sign that the enclosure size is too small. When given enough room they will not feel the need to try and escape. They also need UV lighting, without it they cannot metabolise calcium, which often leads to metabolic bone disease which is slow progressing but will ultimatly destroy the animal if not caught and treated in the early stages. A lot of people think what they have is tame, however when kept wrong (such as being too cold) the animals just dont have the energy or will to try to escape. Like I said they are tough and can survive for awhile in less then perfect conditions, but there is a big difference between surviving and thriving.

He lived umm about 8 years? Probably.
He had energy lol believe me :p
He was never in his cage during the day during the summers for long. Not more than an hour a day.
He didnt move slow when he was startled. He was healthy. The others were not too good when I got them lol

I agree wholeheartedly.
I only have two ball pythons now but used to keep an iguana who was very.. erm.. spirited and rescued and released many very wild Anoles, geckos, frogs, toads etc. throughout my life. And don't worry, when I say anole I mean the native green anole, not the invasive brown ones that are wiping out the greens.

Ok thank you, I am willing to put the time/money into them but do in fact want a pet. Think I will wait awhile and look into beardies, they are my next fav. Will have a pair of 8 week old CB Texas and auqaflame collared lizards in a month to care for anyways. and Will definetly check with her about the health of her lizard, (shes around 120 miles away so gotta go by what she says) From what I understand of her saying was he is active running around and eating, but when she holds him he is just calm

In my opinion Iggys and Dragons are the worst reptiles for beginner keepers. They are both picky eaters, have horrible "teen" stages, and are simply hard to handle and often have nasty temperments.

If you are looking for a nice pet lizard, I would suggest the Blue Tongue Skink. I own 4, and love them. They are simple, easy, and the BEST pet reptiles. They tame incredibly easily, and I have yet to be bitten by one. If you have any questions about them feel free to PM me!

I love blue tongues, have come very close to getting one a few times. I just dont want to deal with their diet and lighting needs though, I'm much more of a snake person.

Thanks but definet not interested in skinks, atleast not right now. I like the more "lizard" look. My first reptile was a Western Collared lizards, hers was a iguana, along with another cousin same age as her had a first iguana. Both of theirs gotten as babies and both lived to be around 6-7 years old and was nothing but big babies and as far as I know only one ever bite ONCE and that was because of her lil bro LOL.

Mine on the other hand was a wild caught lizard I found in the pet store and fell in love with. He turned out to be 10-11 inch Crocodile, and I swear that thing had a personality to it, age lil over a year and he would not let you pick him up, he'd bite and snap till he gets his 2 Mealworms (eat them right out of my hand) and then he'd let me hold him, he got more aggressive as older and couldnt hold him. Still loved him but he died a few months ago at around 2 1/2 years old. From reasons of being wild caught was my understanding.

The new pair im getting is from a Captive breeder, waited through the breeding period of her lizards, through laying, through incubation, and now I get to finish up on waiting till their 8 weeks old to come home!
