I picked this bird up from a breeder who had no idea what it was, so I took a chance on it because of the beautiful blue coloring. It sometimes stands on one foot if that helps, and lately it is starting to remind me of a hawk or an owl because of it's extremely short neck and compact body


. I am sure it is some type of chicken, but I haven't a clue, so any ideas would be a help.
 
Yes, it's a chicken. Probably a bantam which means a small version of a normal chicken. I'm not positive on the breed but it looks like maybe australorp/ ameraucana.
 
Sounds like lavender ameracauna to me, as well, the color is right for sure. And to the "breeders" credit, she did take this bird in from a friend, my mistake for mis-stating that. I haven't ever had ameracaunas as chicks before, so I hadn't seen this stage, thanks for the help.
