anyone have a good prevention schedule for mites?!

Hey all. I recently noticed my chickens are full of mites, this is the first time ever and I’m kind of freaking out!! Tomorrow I am treating the chickens, run and coop with elector psp. It recommends again in 14 days if needed, So I’m going to do that, however the bird population and squirrels around my neighborhood arent going to slow down, so I need a GOOD prevention schedule once I get the mites under control. They free range couple hours a day, I have 2 dust baths in their run and of course they make their own spots. So, how often should I be adding DE to those to help with prevention? Also, should I be completely emptying their tubs every so often and making new dust bathes for them? Or just add DE and wood ash on the old stuff? Also, how often do you completely take bedding out of coop and replace. I sprinkle DE in the coop and nesting boxes, and I thought about adding new DE every week or so, is that to often? Any tips on really good prevention schedule would be greatly appreciated because I really don’t want to have to fight mites again, thanks!! Oh and should I be spraying the chicks down with poultry prevention spray every couple weeks for prevention as well as DE everywhere?

Keep treating at the recommended duration until they are gone.
Keep chekcing them and treating whenever you see them.
Do you know if they are roost mites or fowl mites?

DE won't do anything.
Keep wild birds and rodents away from your coop and birds.

I am thinking they are Fowl mites. I’m only seeing them around their vent area and when I go on at night I’m not seeing any crawling around the coop or anything. Thanks for the info!
