Anyone have a mixed flock of bantams and standards?

I have 4 silkies, 12 EEs, and the babies 6 rocks, 2 brahma. The tiniest 1.5 pound silkie pullet is second ranked girl. Even with that poof no one pecks her without getting put in place. If the two silkie girls want a dust bath, she will peck a few 5 pound EE girls out of the hole if the stink eye doesn't move them. I think it's hilarious that my smallest bird can make my largest do whatever she wants.

I have a pretty accepting and laid back flock. They accepted the babies in at a very young age. Pretty much I'd let babies out to range and they moved in. Everyone could see each other through the brooder screen from they day I got the babies, though.

I have a cute little Wyandotte bantam in with all of my others. She acts just like they do, and she holds her own against them.

I have 13 bantams and many, many, many large fowl chickens. My banties run around the yard with LF, Turkeys and GEESE....lol...and everyone is fine

New to BYC, first time posting but have enjoyed the last several months worth of learning.

This weekend we had to cull one of my 4 month old GLW due to dog attack!

Father-in-law left his greyhound unattended in the backyard and he jumped the fence and scared my birds a little over a week ago. He got one pretty good, we tried to keep it cleaned out but it just was too deep of a wound. Now to my current quandry.....father-in-law has offered to replace my bird but I am not sure if I should wait until the spring and put in a hatchery order to get the breed(s) that I want or do I try to find an older bird to replace the one that I lost. If I wait until the spring my second coop (hee hee hee, chicken math already at work) will be done so was thinking of adding 1-2 wyandottes, 1-2 Patridge Rocks and some 3-4 bantam wyandottes. Am nervous about intergrating an older bird right now and haven't been able to find what i want but am also concerned about trying to integrate chicks into current flock ( 2 columbian wyandottes, 1slw, 1 glw, 1 black austrolorp...all hens) in the spring. Not sure if it would be a good idea to try and mix bantams with the standards and into an existing flock. Any thoughts?

From what people have answered to this thread, I think it is fine to mix standard and bantams. That is what I plan to do. However, I plan to get them all as chicks and brood them together.

I have a flock of 24 RIR and New Hampshire laying hens, 2 silkie rooster, 2 silkie hens, 2 cochin bantam roos, one banam hen, 1 seabright roo, 3 seabright hens, 4 buff 8 wk old pullets, 4 wyandotte 8 wk old pullets, 4 EE 8 wk old pullets, 4 lilac guineas 10 wks old, and 4 pearl guineas 10 wks old. The guineas and the young birds roost in one side of my coop at night and all the others roost in the other side of coop, separated by a door. During the day, they all free range together, roos and all. The only contests we have ever had with the roos is a "crowing contest".
Once one goes off, it lasts usually an hour or so. LOL. Luckily, we have neighbors who also have chickens and nobody worries about the noise. I have never had any trouble with roosters while they are allowed to free range.

Wow, all those live together! Now, I'm glad my husband decided to build

I have 27 hens of 14 breeds, standards and bantams. They all get along great. They were intro'd in groups. My only regret, not building a bigger coop and run. I've expanded once already and would like to again. I definitely have a "problem". My chicken math is out of control...

We have one Pyncheon bantam who is being raised with 2 Sumatras and an EE. Hoping all will go well when we introduce that group to the larger group so I'm appreciating this thread.
