If you want a pure breed to come out of it, I suggest Black Australorp, because that's what your rooster looks like. If you want a hybrid, good breeds to try would be Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, Speckled Sussex, or Brahma for example.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it is really up to you. If you want beautiful black, the Australorp is the way to go. If you want to add a splash of color, go with a red or buff. It is really about your preference.
