We just got a 2 yr old male, he is absolutely the sweetest thing in the world and came along at the right time as we lost our Cocker Spaniel a few weeks ago. He seems to fit right in with the Jack Russells but is having issues with Corky, our GS Mix, actually Corky seems to be the one with the issues.
I did some research online and have a good understanding about the breed and possible health issues. He is well mannered but I plan to go through a beginner's obedience Class with him and also with Corky too. He, Corky and our younger male Jack all 3 need to be neutered as the testosterone in the house gets to be a bit much.

Meet Gordy!

He is definitely MY dog, he loves DH but he is my Shadow....LOL. He is very good and has been good for the Jacks too, now that the Cocker Spaniel is gone, I am only giving two feedings per day and am measuring food, this seems to be working out very well and the dogs seem happier.

We had a Bouvier/GSD cross that was the most wonderful dog anyone could be blessed with. My DD was 3 when we got him @ 9 weeks old (we went to the farmers' market for lettuce - came home with Cassidy). We took him to puppy school @ 4 mos - DD got to learn how to train too. She would walk him at a "heel" up and down the sidewalk...she'd say, "Cassidy, HEEL!, No, HEEL", and he'd walk right next to her. By the time he was 9 mos old, they were the same height! She and he were inseparable for the 11 years he lived. At our little local market, people would remark how safe she was, walking with him (he was 112 lbs).
Anyway, we really miss him (bone cancer). BEST DOG EVER!
CONGRATS on your new family member - I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
