trying our new incubator tomorrow, setting 43 Barred Rock eggs.
Wish us luck, this will be our first attempt!

Good luck with your first attempt! I also, am on my very first. My eggs are due Friday/Sat. Not sure, as I set on Mar. 16th, late in the afternoon. Are you in Ontario, Canada? I hail near Hamilton, Ont. Can. Maybe we are neighbours? Well, 'almost' neighbours, considering most of everyone else is from the U.S.A, lol.

Our chickie that pipped this morning finally pulled through! We're so excited! It's a real cutie too, I can't wait to see it tomorrow after it's all dry and fluffy!

Now here's a question... Our new chick has moved so much that it has moved the other eggs in the bator. Is that a problem??? Will they be ok???

I haven't heard anything from them and haven't seen movement.

if theres no other eggs pipped and this ones running around id take him out. just to be safe

Just got home and checked on the eggs and chick and we have THREE more pips! One is really moving too!

We weren't sure about opening it right now but I think they'll be ok now. Last night that chick was stumbling ALL over the place but is more balanced today, not really disturbing anything.

If I'm correct in which hen it came from, by looking at it's marking (lack of white spot) then it's a girl. I sure hope so!

I have four hatched and a few pips of my 12 I put in lockdown yesterday. One died trying to zip out. My five duck eggs went to lockdown yesterday as well. 4 out of 5 have pips now!
