hope the egg does well, do u see veins? is the dark spot moving?

I have a bantam I sat on 3\20 this should be my day 11. And I just candeled and this is what I saw looking at me!!! I am so excited my first hatch never developed all 29 were flops and this is the only baby I have left. One from one of our own girls!!! Hatch day is also my DH's bday. Oh I hope he\she does well.

I started seeing veins on day three. And I have seen the heart beating? I didn't keep it out long today I just happened to have my phone in my pocket and took a quick picture. I have 4 EE's, 14, RR's, & 5 bantams, that are on day 4 and I will be candeling them tuesday so I will prolly wait till then to check this one again. I did peek at a few of the others today and did see some veins in them. This weekend has been hard though, it got so hot and the pollen is so horrid we had to turn on the AC. It messed with my temps for a little while, but I spent all day yesterday checking constantly and making small adjustments a little at a time. It finally evened out and now we are crusing right along.

let me know what u see. the only concern i have on ur egg is that dark line on the left side. could just be the pic

In the middle of the egg just to the left of the dark spot? Or all the way to the edge where the darkness meats the red? The second is my finger. I took it with my iphone with my left hand so it isn't the greatest picture. I was trying to figure out that line and I was thinking it might be the chicks leg(s)...... I could be wrong, I couldn't ever figure out my OWN ultra sounds so figureing out what part of the chick I am looking at is near impossible. lol

Out of curiosity what are you thinking on the line?

the line next to the dark spot. Every time i saw a line like that in my eggs a few days later they died. Hope its just the pic. Ur egg could be fine. its always hard to get a good pic of an egg

Me too I am thinking none of my Cochin Bantams made it either

I had 3 that I could definately see moving before lockdown but nothing yet.....I did have a few hot days it hit 111 in the bator but I still had movement 6-7 days after that so I don,t know what happened.. So sorry for your batch

My chicks hatched out on the 20th day.... there were 6 to completely hatch but only 3 lived.. I don't understand.. but it seemed like two of them didn't absorb their yolk all the way? I'm not sure.. but one of the ones who is still alive won't walk normal.. and he/she was hatched breech and I had to help him/her because he/she puntured it's yolk sack while trying to emerge. The one pictured is "normal" and has a sibling looking identical.. these were eggs that I'd purchased but.. they all seemed to do well when I'd candled them.. any thoughts? Has anybody had this happen before...? This was my first hatch.. and out of the dozen eggs 7 were viable but many quit and some didn't make it out of the egg..
