ANYONE HAVE EGGS DUE!! CHARTS ON PAGE ONE POST ONE!! NEWCOMERS WELCOME!!!

A couple hovabators one is forced air and one is still air, I am saving my money up for a cabinet model though. I will probably instal a small fan in the still air model and use those for the rest of this year.

I candled my Silky's 3 eggs tonight Bitty is sitting on. Veins in all 3.

I had 19 eggs of various kinds in the incubator, but.... I've a turkey that wants to brood so bad. She keeps sitting on a golf ball, or daily eggs laid by the chickens (which I keep taking from her). So this morning I gave her 8 of the chicken eggs from the incubator. Checked on all my birds a bit ago, and Whiskey is happily sitting on the chicken eggs (she's a Burbon Red turkey). Don't know how it will go when she hatches chickens instead of turkeys!!

I have been watching cregslist for a deal and saving up, this is my first time incubating and I am already planning to upgrade and build a second coop. I didn't realize I was a chicken person when I first started with them for eggs and meat but I love watching them out in the yard and listening to my young roosters that are just starting to crow.

lol i know how that is not knowing that ur a chicken person. I had my incubator running non stop since last november. I cant stop hatching eggs. lol i hatch eggs for other people soo i dont end up with soo many birds. i just love to see them hatch! lol

Starting to pip now, I have 7 chipped shells that I can see through the small windows and I hear them chirping in the shells.

A few of the eggs are brown and couldn't be candled very well so I don't know if they will hatch, how long can the hatched chicks stay in the incubator? I don't want to open early and kill the other eggs if they are not hatching but end up just taking a little longer? I don't know if this is something I will need to worry about but I want to be prepared

Today is Day 18 for my 7 silkieXshowgirl eggs. I candled them yesterday and 3 look great and 3 look like they stopped developing but left them in there anyway. 1 is questionable. I'll be happy if I get 1 chick! :) This will be my first hatch if everything goes well.
