Well my 17 barnyard mix are all growing WOOT! 12 out of 16 of my coturnix are definitely growing! And today I picked up a friend's incubator and her eggs to hatch out for her lol sooooo there is another 17 eggs in a 2nd bator going and due for March 19th. Still waiting for my BBS Orpington eggs and I did a swap yesterday and now have 6+ EE/OE eggs coming too (Possibility of some mad scientist eggs lol Naked Neck/EE hens fertilized by a Frizzle Roo) hehe that should be interesting to say the least. THey are shipping tomorrow! YAY!

This is my very first batch, I have eight of them and they are due out the 21st of March. I am worse than the brooding hen. I can't seem to leave them alone! I am so worried that none of them will hatch! Driving myself crazy! There are 6 Ameraucana and 2 Sumatra. I am impatient!

I checked them on day 9. Some of the eggs are so thick and dark that it is hard to tell what's going on in there. After viewing some candling videos online, I felt pretty confident that what I saw was growing chicks! I could definitely see 2 clear looking ones. They weren't dark at all. Sure is hard to toss them out. I keep thinking that maybe they are just late bloomers. LOL I was planning to check them again this Friday (which would be day 14) and if they were still clear at that point, I would take them out. That would not be to late for tossing, would it? Also, how can you tell if one is a quitter?

Mine are doing good as well! I had to bring on egg in from my broody females nest. It got a little roughed up and ended up getting a crack in it. I melted some wax and covered up the crack. I brought it inside and put it in my incubator with the 6 other eggs that were already in there. So I now have 7 inside and she has 11 in her nest. All due about 3-13. Anyone else share the same hatch date?
