ANYONE HAVE EGGS DUE!! CHARTS ON PAGE ONE POST ONE!! NEWCOMERS WELCOME!!!

My seven are going into lockdown tomorrow. Here is my question though, I set these eggs in the incubator @ 9:30 am. I have to work tomorrow. Should I go ahead and do the lockdown in the morning before I leave for work, or should I wait until I get home about 5:15 pm? This is my first hatch and I have 7 eggs left of the original 8. I have had some temperature regulation problems ranging from 94 degrees to 105 degrees for about an hour last night. Frusterating! I can see movement in 2 of the eggs that are light enough for me to still kind of see through. Hopefully that is a good indicator for the rest. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if i were u id lockdown when u get home. ive went into lockdown a day late before. so i think ull be ok

Is there a certain day that a blood vein would show up? Is it pretty obvious too, like a red line and nothing else?

A blood vein or blood ring shows up any day. it will be a thick red line or ring on the egg, no other veins or anything else. i usully wait till day 10 to be sure if its one or not

Yeah, I only candled really quickly and I dont think I have one, I just wanted to make sure. I have some eggs that seem to be on different growing phases so I just wanted to make sure.

hatching hopefully 8 silkies on Friday fringers crossed!!! my first chicken batch.

Getting ready to go on lockdown this evening after work. I candled my eggs this morning for one last time. I am concerned about the 1 Sumatra egg that I have left. There has been movement up until yesterday. Seems like there is alot of space in the egg still left. I would really hate to lose that one as I only had 2 anyway. I have one of the Americauna eggs that is awfully light. It is probably not fertile. So, out of the 8 eggs I started out with, I probably have 5 potential fuzzy children hatching Saturday (I hope). Who knew that you could get attached to an egg???

I understand that. Mine are due to hatch tomorrow and one has a crack already but no pipping or peeping..I need to stay away from the bator..I'm going crazy looking at that egg to see if anything else has happened. It's a silkie, our first and my kids already are trying to name them..I kept telling em don't name em they may not hatch. I sure hope they do b/c they have names already. I hope you have a good hatch.

Well, I was gonna wait till this morning as its still only day 19 to put my chick eggs in lockdown. The little chirper that was maing noise last night HATCHED this morning before I left!!!!!! What an early little bird OMG!!! She hatched in 35%humidity perfectly fine! There are 5 other pips now! I move the not ready eggs to the other incubator and raised the humidity now to 58%. The chicks never dry when its at 70% humidity and its WAY more messy! S now I have 10 jb coturnix running about and a chickie from my california white hen probably covered by my big buff roo. She has earned the name Early Bird
