I am doing an experiment with her.

I just cracked open some eggs from last week and they had the bulls eye!

Now I am not sure if hers have the bulls eye still or what, but I left her 6 eggs under her, then put six more under her. is 12 to many for a silkie to hatch?

P.S. I want to print off the duck incubating calendar is it true call ducks incubate for 26 days? When should I stop turning the eggs/ Thanks

Found this site about call ducks. It might help you out. I've never had call ducks.

My wife just printed the duck calendar for me yesterday. We'll be setting duck eggs March 10th.

I hope it helps you out! It's nice to have some kinda of guideline and info as your go. Plus, you can "X" out the days as they go by, write little notes/track temp then throw it out at the end of the hatch and print a new one the next time. All of the info is just that though a "guideline" such as the temp, humidity lockdown day, ect.

ok so i went into tractor supply and saw they just got there chicks in. I couldnt resist lol. But the minimum number of chicks you could buy was six. so i got two Red pullets, Two White Pullets, and two Black pullets.
They had a sign with the possible breeds

Im guessing one red chick is a new hamshire and the others eaither the dark RIR or production red.

the two white are white rocks

and the two blacks are barred rocks

Tomorrow im ganna pick up a few more from Turlock Feed Store
there ganna have dark RIRs
Buff orps
and Barred rocks
all pullets

Tonight is 6 days and I have 8 eggs with 8 embryos!!!!! I'm really nervous now!

Those chicks are SO cute! I'm banning myself from TSC until after my 22 hatch at school next weekend. I truly hope I don't need to go in there before then because I know I'll be walking out with chicks if I do. If I get a good hatch out of the 22 I won't NEED to get any more, however I still may not be able to control myself!!

What about your hatch? How many in the bator? We both are waiting. I got antsy and put three under my white silkie who decided to go broody this week! hooray! If she takes to them I will give her the other three. She was a good broody of six eggs last year.

Those are very cute chicks. I got 6 Australorps from there at the beginning of the week but a friend picked them up for me so I don't know if they're a straight run or just pullets. I'm really hoping pullets since I don't want any BA roos
