Anyone have electrified Chicken netting to keep predators out?

Hello All!
My neighbors dog killed one of my chickens today, so I'm needing to invest in electrified chicken netting. I'm looking into Premier 1's line. Does anyone have this and like it? I'm just curious if others are pleased with the investment. Thanks!

@Folly's place uses it. I use electric wire around my coops and pens. So far nothing has gotten past the wire. The only things that got electrocuted were a couple of snakes when they went over the wire. I have gotten a shock when I have forgotten to turn it off when working around the coops and pens. I usually remember. I have it up for predators and when they touch it they don't test it again.

We use premier one chicken netting. It's pretty great. The only time a predator has gotten in there is when it wasn't electrified (my fault).

I've also found the bantams (d'uccles and d'anvers) are able to slip through the netting without getting shocked. Thankfully mine now how to get back in.

It takes a while to learn how to set up, but once you get the hang of it becomes easier. Just keep it from getting tangled.

Side note: you can step on the netting (while it's electrified) with rubber boots and such and not get shocked.

Thanks so much for the reply!

No problem! Another thing, you'll want to try and keep it out of tall grass (or mow where the fence will end up) if you care about high voltage. All of the little squares touching the grass end up shorting it outnumbered giving you less of a charge. Now, if the charger is giving out 8KV, and the fence is giving out 6KV, that's totally fine. My fences usually rest around 4KV.

Once you get shocked the first time, you'll never want to do it again, believe me. If you're wearing rubber boots it can help lessen the shock. Just remember to turn it off, AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON!

I know this is an older post but … do you use the electric wire only at night or all the time? Do you only need one wire? I am new at this and trying to figure things out. Thanks!
