Anyone have electrified Chicken netting to keep predators out?

Thanks. This may sound absurd, but is there a motion detector that also sets off an alarm? I just think that most of the prowling would occur when I’m asleep. If noise helps, an annoying alarm would be the next best thing. (At least here in the country…)

If you decide to go with regular galvanized chicken wire and run 2 electric wires around it you can improve your ground by running a ground wire and connecting it to the metal chicken wire on the fence. This deters any climbers on the fence.If they touch any part of that fence and either hot wire they will be shocked.

They do make a motion light that triggers and alarms but I don't use one.I think Amazon sells those too. My dogs would go crazy if I had one of those. Every dog in the neighborhood would start barking too. (Those would work great if I have a pest you're trying to catch)

Btw Here is the cheap camera I use (works fantastic) .You have to set it where it won't constantly be recording or the batteries will run down in a week. Oooh. How do I safely test if it’s live?

You can't let your hot wires touch the fence or the ground wire .The ground itself can be connected to the fence .The most important thing to remember is the hot wire is isolated and can't touch either one.

In a regular set up anything on the ground will get a shock if it touches the hot wire.

In this set up anything ON the ground or ON the fence will get shock if it touches a hot wire.

A voltmeter can also be called a fence tester. It typically has a spike you dig into the ground, a hook that hangs on the fence, and a display to tell you how many volts you are getting.
It is good to check the fence frequently. If you lose voltage, first check the batteries in the fence tester(!), and then walk the fence and look for places where weeds have grown up and are touching the live wires. Sometimes a branch of a tree has come down and is resting on one.
