Just read something in a horse lovers blog about her Buckeye Chickens being better mousers than her barn cats? Just wondering if anyone knows anything about that? I am having a bit of a mouse explosion in my barn and thought that was funny, never heard about a chicken eating mice? Just got 10 new little ones, and was wondering if I should call the hatchery and add a few of these to the group. How does that work? I guess they would have to free range, and hang out in the barn, which I am not a fan of chickens in the horse barn, but if they catch mice.....heck.. come on in girls! I did read they are best free rangers, and don't do well in confined spaces. The breeds I picked were for their personalites, egg production, and easy going nature, so I want them to get along in the pen with the other ladies. Read they are very friendly with people. Any insights?
