Gorgeous, Ernie! How old is/was this roo? (I have 7 Crèvecouer chicks and they are so gentle I can't tell how many of mine are roos.) Would love to see any photos you'd like to share. Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but there is very little about Crèves online.

Thanks,
Chris

Got my Crèvecouer chicks from Greenfire Farms and highly recommend. I am raising them after researching breeds at the Livestock Conservancy. They are very sweet chicks and already have beautiful feathers at 8 days old.

I’m trying to figure out genders on my 7 week old crevs. They are really looking quite different at this point so I’m thinking a pullet and cockerel.

Sweet Crèves. I have 7 8-week-old Crèvecœurs and the 3 cockerels are all sporting red horns.
Are the Roos combs redder/bigger than the nubbins that mine has? How about the tails? Have you noticed much difference between them? Mine seem to be totally different. ?

I'm not an expert on this, since these are my first Crèves, but my roos have combs that are more visible beneath their feathers and very red. I would bet you have a cockerel and a pullet.
