Does anyone have past experience with Sandhill in regards to their Golden Erminettes? I went in on an order with a friend, and I ordered some Erminettes and she ordered some Golden Erminettes. The chicks we got all have light black spots on them (except 2 which are just white/yellow). I have never ordered from someone who put chicks that look the same in a box without marking what they are! The packing slip mentions both the Golden and the Black being included in the box, but nothing is marking the chicks.

I'm wondering if it is normal for there to be some light black markings on the Goldens initially and I just need to wait for them to start feathering out see what they are? It also looks like some of them are more of a yellow or soft buff around their heads, while some seem to be simply a duller white/yellow...Could those that are slightly more yellowish be the Golden Erminettes?

Just wondering if anyone else has received the Golden Erminettes from Sandhill and might be able to tell me anything that can help me determine which is which.

I ordered one with a much larger order. None of the birds were marked so I received 36 chicks and have no idea what they are. Also, 6 died within 24 hours. They have been nasty about the whole situation, and refuse to make it right.

I ordered 75 chicks. 50 were mixed and 25 were ones I paid a premium for including a golden Erminette. All the chicks were together so we were never able to determine what many of them were. My Golden was not as described and ultimately died, as well as several others. They were very hard to deal with. Me nor my friends will not order from them again. I understand they are older and do it all themselves while the husband also works. However, I believe they are just too overwhelmed with everything they are selling so they just don't do it well, and it doesn't excuse bad customer service. I have read other comments saying the same thing.
