Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I thought of a heating pad too but she doesn't move at all. I warmed up some towels but she seems to cool them off.
I know I did all I could to help her. I hope she hangs on till someone else can take over.

You will need to keep doing it.
It sounds like she is hypothermic.

Have you called pet poison hotline?
18002136680 is the number.

Omg I'm just seeing this about the cat!

Are her gums pale?

Poor thing. Is pitbullmama around? Maybe she has some suggestions.

Her gums are terribly pale. Cold too. The pupils thing makes me think poison. Pitbullmama PMd me.

Not much can be done. Humane society is coming for her in the morning. I will check her again before bed. Not sure how I can keep her any warmer. She won't drink or eat. She hardly moves poor thing.

This is such a sad situation.
The only good thing is that if she dies tonight she'll be able to pass in peace in a safe environment.
I'm sorry this has fallen to you.

I'm not a kat person but I can't understand why someone would do something like this to a animal makes me mad

G'night to Bob and whoever else is going to bed. I'll be heading there shortly my damn self.

Lost 2 more eggs, 7&14 as predicted. We have 8 that are DEFINITELY moving and grooving, 3 looked *good*, but they're too dark to see very well in to... so couldn't tell if they were moving.

#2, the cracked one, is dancing a little jig in their shell! I am totally shocked!!! Happily shocked though.

DH has to work a half day tomorrow, so the only plans is mulching up more leaves. Sunday is supposed to be cold and rainy, so taking the day *off*, by doing indoor chores, like folding laundry and dishes and straightening cabinets and the dining room.

Someone have a View attachment 1183874 for me!!
I'm still rooting for #2!

I've just been very busy the last two weeks.

How long does it take to get a job... 52 hrs from clicking submit on the application to getting the job offer.

I've been happily employed for 2 weeks, and love where I work.

I don't really do breakfast, since that takes time away from sleep, and I'm not normally a morning person anyhow. Yes, work starts in the morning for me, so the birds have had to adjust to an earlier bed time, as well as an earlier rise and shine. The first night they weren't to bed early they looked at me like I was taking them to the chopping block. The next morning, when I woke them up 4 hrs earlier than normal, they acted like teenagers being woke up before noon on a Saturday. They've adjusted though, and Nickalodian works well for entertainment (bright colors, stuff happening, and the keets love Paw Patrol).

The kids have really been helping out, they've cooked dinner a couple times, cleared the leaves of the driveway, and other little stuff that makes a big difference.

I'm a very happy camper.
Congrats on the new job!

Awe! I love your flock!! I am just amazed how many people just find chickens. Wow!

It has been proven that chickens are smart, couldn’t they be litter box trained???

I took a Zanaflex (short acting mucle relaxer) last night and I could slowly feel my muscles relaxing. Heaven! Numbness and tingling went away. I start waking up about 4:30 with numbess coming back. I slept in the recliner with my heated throw.
Bugling discs and arthritis in my neck. Bursitis in left hip. Right hip was replaced a couple years ago.

A little chilly in the house (even for me), I forgot I thurned the heat off. Only 63 degrees.

Hubby comes home today! We pick him up at 1:15. I still have work to do on my run, but it is done for the most part. My body and mind have drastically slowed down the past couple of days.
Not to be nosey in your medical situation, but have you seen a doctor for your bulging disc? One of my friends had a really bad one with to the point where she couldn't even stand up straight. She went and had surgery in Feb and she's 100% now. The doctor said it was the worst bulging disc he had ever seen. We were all nervous about her having surgery but she was in so much pain that she was actually sleeping sitting on the couch with her head on a tray table. She went home the same day and a week later she was back at work.

My dad is a Grampy too! My daughters are 14 & 12 and they still call him Grampy. The best grandpas are called Grampy. I'm not biased at all.

Good morning, Squatchers! :frow I take a day off, read a couple books, come back, and there are 13 pages to catch up on!! Jeez Louise!! schvetty crap balls!

My chickens water froze for the first time. It's getting COLD here in the dirty Jersey. First hard frost, and all 14 are still alive and pecking.

Got some catching up to do!:caf
Odin's water froze the last 2 nights & he was not happy about it. I feel bad bc I got a heated waterer for the others but the laws of physics prevent me from giving him one. Not looking forward to this all winter.

I just needed a small bag of shavings for the nesting box. TSC is 15 miles away.

This talk of fermenting and “mash” got me thinking, how about just wetting crumbles? Less waste??? Wet just stinks after a couple of days. I can smell my run/coop before I get to it. But I have a bionic nose. I can smell a poot or burp before it comes out of someone.

I saw this at WalMart today.

Where do you live that Walmart has that?

I can drink coffee before bed! LOL Caffeine doesn't bother me at all.

I'm weird and don't eat raw tomatoes. Can't stand the way they smell. Don't do mushrooms either. :sick They stink. I've avoided both those things since birth I swear.
I don't like raw tomatoes either, but I love mushrooms!

Eat desert first! That is why I rarely make it, just can not leave it alone!
You're like my youngest child. We made a pumpkin roll today and the whole time she asked How much longer? Then as soon as it was done she cut off a big piece. Then had another later when we got home.

DEFINITELY meet for coffee, lunch, drinks, dinner and dancing, bungee jumping, pin the tail on the donkey, a rousing game of Twister or anything else you can come up with! Maybe we can get @rjohns39 to join.

I have never really worn make-up. Maybe twice a year when I have to get dressed up for some military social function. My make up goes bad before I use it more than once or twice.

And round is MY shape as well..... hadn't always been... but a couple of surgeries and a late in life pregnancy took it's toll on my poor body. I eat pretty damn healthy and get plenty of outdoors time, so I don't bash myself.
I prefer Plus. Not plus size, just plus... Innovation in my job has allowed me to do more at my desk so now I only go onsite if I have to physically touch something. Years ago I'd be driving all over and walking laps around libraries for hours updating things. Now I can do it all from the comfort of my desk. Also, I like - no, love sugary stuff.

I just checked on her and she's still alive. Pulled at tick off her neck. I sat with her in front of the furnace and rubbed her body to try and get blood flow going. She stiffens and her pupils open. She makes a pitiful meow and breathes heavy. She relaxes and her pupils constrict again.
I can't believe how cold she still is. She drools and it's cold coming out of her mouth. It's like she needs a warm IV. I bundled her up again and left her alone.
How sad. I hope you're able to help her. I know there's an animal hospital in Akron, but that's prob way too far for you.
