anyone have photos of silkie / sex link chickens?

Next spring or summer, if one of my hens turns broody I will let her hatch some eggs.

Our girls: 5 red sex links, 6 black sex links and 1 white silkie.

Our boys: 2 white silkies for sure, and probably 2 more on the way (we have 2 chicks, still unsexed).

Would the resulting babies be horribly ugly or would they be cute? We'd keep the chicks of course, as I want to add to the flock next year.

Anybody have some of these mixes?

I don't have any, but I think they would be pretty. Silkie mixes will be smooth feathered in the first generation. They would probably have feathered legs and maybe crests or beards. Should be interesting. I'm sure someone will put up some pics soon.

Here are my Sizzle/Buff Orpington cross chicks. The mom is 3/4 Silkie and 1/4 Frizzle Cochin Bantam. The dad is a huge Buff Orpington.

I guess if the feathers aren't "poofy" in the first generation, they would indeed be very cute and special... ah well time will tell if I'll ever get chicks from my flock!
