Anyone have picts of a black star rooster?

Black stars are sex links gotten by crossing. You will only get a predictable color outcome on the 1st generation. Following generations aren't black stars any more because they can no longer be sexed by color when hatched.

BSL males look similar to Barred Rock males, but maybe a little darker. You can find photos on feathersite.

Here is a photo of our 6 week old BSL Roo:

Thanks- how cute! These are first generation cross- my RIR roo and Barred Rock hen. They were fostered by our Black Ausrtalorp.
We have one Black Star hen from McMurray- she is beautiful and sweet. I wish I would have known what the chicks were before I gave 1/2 of them away last year, but they never tell you what you have.
