Hello everyone!

I saw on here a while ago plans for a homemade chicken plucker. Does anyone remember where they were or can someone post the website for plans on how to build a plucker?

A neighbor of mine is an electrician and he said he would build one when I offered to butcher his birds for him also.

Thanks SOOO much!

Buy the Whizbang book. It's GREAT. Very detailed, step by step, and makes it easy no matter what your skill level. There are plans online, but unless you are very good at designing and building things, you can't come close to the ease and quality that can be had using that book.

Good post ^^

I do mine by hand, but if you need a lot of birds done fast here's something you can do:

Get a mechanical clothes dryer.

Throw in as many birds as will fit.

Turn the dryer to the highest setting.

Start.

Return a couple hours later and fetch fully plucked and cooked birds.

(edit) The birds will also be quite tender.

This also works in making very large batches of scrambled eggs. Just crack as many eggs as will fit in the dryer, turn it to the lowest setting, because the eggs will cook fast, and only leave them in there as long as it takes to cook, no more than ten minutes.

Works like a charm.
