I got some hatching eggs from a relative for free, just to practice with because this will be my first hatch from my new incubator. His rooster is a RIR and I know that the eggs came from his White Leghorn hens because the RIR hens lay brown eggs and all of these are white.

Does anyone have any photos of this type of cross breed? Tell me about yours if you have some.

it honestly depends on the hens what you will get with this crossing. If your friends specific white leghorns carry teh silver gene (which you wont know by looking) the chicks will come out sexlinks...this means teh roos will be yellow at hatching (and mature to be a white feathered mostly bird) and the hens will be red tinted at hatching. If the hens dont carry the silver gene however most will come out just looking yellow to yellow with black spots and be either pullet or roo. IMO they pretty much take over the white leghorn traits then.

If they're pure White Leghorn hens they're unlikely to make a gold silver sex link with RIR males. While White Leghorns do tend to be silver & barred, they are also, usually, dominant white on extended black. Thus offspring will be white, probably with leakage, whatever the gender of the chick.
White Leghorn male on RIR hens would give rate of feather growth sex links but this doesn't help in this case.

If I have any that hatch, I will let you guys know how they turn out. We plan to start tomorrow because my husband is bringing home some fertilized Barred Rock eggs to start with my eggs.

I had not spoke to him about it when I posted my original message. When my husband got home, he said that a friend of his has some RIR and white leghorn mix chickens and all are all primarily white with some red flecks in their feathers. I haven't seen them, personally.
