I'm looking I to getting some livestock in a few years and was wondering if sheep are worth it? I dont know much but I'll be sure to do plenty of research for at least a year before getting any

What is your goal?

Lamb is delicious. Mutton is good, assuming it’s harvested and prepared in a very specific manner.
Sheep will need sheared once a year. Hoofs kept up (trimmed, foot baths, etc). But are generally easy to keep. They aren’t much on browsing, and I typically see foxtail where they congregate in mass. I believe the foxtail seeds are still viable when they pass through their digestive system.

It would probably be just for wool but in the future we may harvest them. I'm not sure how much space we'll have so we'll have to see. Either way I'd like to get some when I'm a bit older

So what is ‘worth it’ as defined by you? I personally don’t think the wool from a sheep or two is worth the maintenance. They aren’t snuggle buddies (sheep stink. Lanolin on wool soaks in with the smell). They should be kept in groups of 3 or more ideally.
But, if having a few sheep soothes your soul then it’s definitely worth it.

I have nigerian dwarfs and neubians. they are both great breads but neubians are pretty big. We use our girls for milk, our boy nigerians as breeders, and our boy neubians as expensive weed killers. They give lots of milk which is awesome! And you don't have to worry about their wool like you do with sheep.
