Looks like you have a Welsummer, too. That's what I currently have (exclusively, mainly because they are very good free rangers), but am thinking about Swedish Flowers possibly in the future because I have read that they are good free rangers and cold hardy. How do yours hold up in the heat?

Hello and Welcome to BYC.

I stumbled upon Swedish Flowers while looking at different chicken breeds and had to have some.

I love my Flowers! I have 3 pullets and 2 cockerals in my flock of 15. They are very curious birds. Not affraid of me but don't want snuggles. I can pick them up without much protest but they prefer to keep their feet on the ground. I steadily get eggs from the girls and the boys are alert and protective. They were willing to go out in colder weather, more so then some of my other breeds, but stayed inside with snow. I unfortunately had a moisture problem and both boys got frostbite on their combs and waddles. They are recovering nicely and seem no worse for wear. (I feel bad about it)

Hi my name is Sara and well I’ve had chickens for 6 years now but different chickens. I hear everyone has lots of Wyandottes and silkies but I was wondering if anyone had Swedish flower hens? I started with one and then when she had chicks only two came out the same breed but one is bigger than the others and doesn’t have those extra feathers on her head! Unfortunately th mother died late last year ☹️, but I still have three! The one in my profile pic is the one that died. Just out of curiosity does anyone know why the orange would be so paranoid and running away all the time, I never scared her before she was just always like this .
