Should I buy the book called " Pocketful of Poultry" it is a small book with colorful pictures of different chicken breeds. My question is, what is the best book to have that would have all breeds listed with pictures of them.

ANY Nursury Catalog will do , More than one is better !!! Support your local LIBRARY , Every one forgets !!! I checked out Gardening and Chicken book's , both out today !!! ......... ALAN B .

I don't own it, but I check it out at the library once in awhile. It is a cute little book with nice color photos. It has one or two pictures of most breeds and some vary basic info like color variations, egg layer vs. meat, etc. It does not show all the color variations however. I liked using it as a quick reference when I first started reading about chickens. I have seen it on half.com for about $4.00 used.

I have the 'big" poultry book put out by Storey's and have checked out the Pocketfull of Poultry book from the library. The POP book has the same photos and condensed information as the large book. Very much alike, just smaller. I think it is a good investment. It is nice to have a book rather than just the internet.

Storey sent me copies of all their chicken books for free when I won that Storytubes thing (long story) so I have both Pocketful and the big book. I like the big book better because it goes more in-depth and the pictures are larger. But both are marvelous.
