I'm loathe to bring up the subject as i'm sure it's something everyone has been sick of hearing about it for the past month or so but here in the UK we are on lockdown and it's predicted to become more strict in the next few weeks/months.

Just checked with the breeder and she isn't going to have gosling available now until June!

I really hope this situation doesn't stop me getting any at all this year, I have been looking forward to getting them for months :(

I had a very hard time finding a hatchery that had any geese available for shipping before late may or early June. I am too impatient though and ordered 15 toulouse x embden cross geese from cackle hatchery. Today I received 10 of those aforementioned goslings. I am somewhat perturbed about the missing 5, but got a note that they would refund my money within 3 weeks... so yes, I have noticed a slimming of the mail order hatchery goosemarket... at least. Made me feel weird like geese are also on some sort of strike...
Because none of the larger named hatcheries seemed to have geese available. Most showing only limited availability later in the year.

There is a breeder that I will be getting my tolouse from which said her goose begins laying mid March so I checked with her a couple of days ago and now she doesn't expect any until June, Isn't that getting a little bit late in the season?
