I've been a member of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) since 1985, both when I lived in Asheville NC and here in Georgia. Anyone else here a member? For those not familiar, it's a non-profit medieval and Renaissance re-enactment group.

Thanks,

Dee

Yep,

My sons are in the youth fighting, I'm a knife juggler/thrower, and Mr Saddi is building a ballista for the next war. It's a new meaning for "family time" but it works for us.

Very cool!!! Have you ever done research into historical chickens? I may have to do that soon.

We enjoy it a lot, but yes, it can be very time consuming. We tend to pick and choose which events we attend, carpool or share a cabin with friends, etc. Kind of like a nice family get-together.

You should! My aunt & uncle have retired and now RV to various wars, tourneys etc selling gowns and such. Embarrasses my cousins to no end.

Once I get some more experience, I hope to 'branch out' to more heritage breeds. Right now, the PR is my favorite bird--very lovey and affectionate (at least while I keep up the treats). Do you have any you recommend?

For a second I thought SCA meant SportsCars of America LOL. (Then I remembered properly...) Not a member, but I do enjoy watching y'all at Ren Fairs and Irish Fest/Scottish Fest. And I LOVE your avatar Graia! (The raven visits me often)

Thanks! An SCA put that together for me since my persona has a raven as a symbol, and she's 10th century Irish.
