anyone here like birdwhatching?

I enjoy it, but I really don't go out of my way to do it, if that makes sense. We live near the Kirtland Warbler area, a small blue and yellow bird that lives only in northeastern Michigan.

Here's some stuff right from our backyard

I spend a good part of my week in the Nature Conservancy's Scott Matteson Preserve. It is about 270 acres of wetlands on the Colorado River. Blue herons, Sandhill Cranes, Pelicans, Sea gulls, Peregrine Falcons, Eagles, Hawks, Blue Jays, Red Wing Black birds, Ducks, Geese, Coots, pheasants, Turkeys, Woodpeckers to name a few. The geese are returning and there is a big ol' River Otter that I've been spying on too. Can't wait to go back to work! I really need to keep a list of the things I see and carry a bird ID book and camera.
