this is a snowy wandering albatross

Day 31: black and white! I drew the black billed magpie, and finished the challenge! Woof that was tough but I’m really proud of myself. Now I need a drawing break haha 😅

Beautiful!
And EXCELLENT job with the challenge, your commitment is so very admirable-- not only your commitment, but the sheer depth of color and skill in each and every piece, you didn't phone a single one in!
Bravo. :D

:celebrate

I actually completed the challenge! 😱

Today's piece:

My final, but favorite bird from this piece: A Ring-Billed Gull. There a common sight around the McDonald's around here, as well as on Maine's biggest lake, Moosehead Lake.

Then I did this bird first on this piece. (Another mess-up of mine.) I didn't realize Blue Jays were kinda rare in coniferous forests. So this is a bonus bird:

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge and there are a lot of birds I never would have done if it wasn't for this challenge. (This also became a great way to fill my empty sketchbook that I was concerned wasn't going to get filled due to me starting to do digital art.) I think of this whole challenge, my favorite piece that I did is still the hummingbird on day 3.

It was also a lot of fun seeing everyone else's pieces too. You all are so talented!!! I don't think I could choose a favorite picture from any of you because you are all so talented! (And yes, I just went through this whole thread looking at all of your pieces. :love:love)

Thank you @RDchicken99 for hosting this challenge on here!!! Also, congrats on this being your biggest year yet!
You've done an amazing job, Lacy!
(I adore that seagull, so much personality)
The growth in your confidence with birds is so marked. All of them are lovely, but you can really see the progress between each drawing. Consider me impressed.

Hope to have you both around for next year's annual BYCBT!

And to @Amer, actually insane level of dedication for how busy I know you've been?! You're crazy! It's great!

Rather disappointed with how BirdTober turned out for me, though it was a far more occupied month with work and social happenings than I was expecting. Next year I'll probably do a weekly bird, as to set a more achievable goal.

Wow thank you so much! It was so good to get so much practice in. I really enjoyed the challenge! :)
