Hello everyone,

I'm a new member of the forum who has benefited greatly from all your input (I've been reading lots of stuff!), and I need your help.

I have two adorable, fluffy month-old duckies (don't know the breed... will post pics sometime later), and I've recently come to the hard decision that I have to give them away. I had three of them initially, but when I brought them outside (fenced all around and above), one was stolen by a neighbor during the night. Granted, I don't live in the nicest neighborhood, but I wasn't quite expecting that they'd steal a little duckling. Cars, yes; and tools, yes; but a duckling out of a cage at 3am?!

Since the duckies are starting to get bigger (a little bigger than my hand when they sit down on it), my plan was to have them outdoors for more space and happiness. But with the recent theft (and overhearing a mean conversation about animals), I realize that my neighborhood is hostile to the little ducklings in the back yard. With that said, I cannot promise my duckies a safe environment (since I'm not home 24/7), and I don't want to find myself in a situation where someone steals/injures them and they are treated poorly thereafter.

I live in DC, and I can drive to the near 'burbs in VA and MD. Is there anyone on the forum who lives within 50 miles of my area, who is interested in adopting these adorable little duckies? I don't know if they're male or female, but they're both very sweet, and I just want a nice home where they won't be surrounded by hostile neighbors who could potentially steal/abuse them. I have a half-full bag of cracked corn (they preferred peas, eggs, and oatmeal, so that didn't sell too well) to go with them as well.

Please contact me or reply to this post!

I took some photos of them, so I'm posting them here. If anyone happens to know the breed also, please let me know.

I;m in MD and have some ducks tat lthese little munchkins could live with. I'd be happy to take them! Then when they are older they would go with my flock of 20!

I'm about an hour and half from you in Southern Maryland. But I'm on 260 acres with 20 other very spoiled ducks. Have a brooder in the house already and plenty of feed and treats. I can't come pick them up as some others said they could.. but if none of those places work out I'll take 'em. Maybe meet ya half way?

I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post. I was able to find a wonderful new family for my two duckies, and I'm very grateful! As much as I miss them already, I am very happy for my duckies
