Anyone in HUMAN Medical Field?? Fifths Disease**(PICS of kids)**

My kids never get an itchy rash when they have strep. But if you noticed a red cheek it very well could be fifths. Keep them away from pregnant women who have not been exposed to it before. It could cause complications. The virus should run it course in a few days.

Ok, thanks so much everyone! I don't usually overreact, so I may take the 'Do Nothing' approach.

They haven't been around anyone pregnant, except of course at Walmart or something, but what can you do when you don't know they have it??

Kinda scary for a pregnant lady, huh?

We are officially QUARANTINED for a few days. Off I go to the video store.........(sigh...)

Well, you know...I thought at first it was poison oak, because it originated on his hands and arms. And he is HIGHLY allergic to poison oak. So I called the DR and he called me in some fresh Prednisone syrup to avoid the ER and several shots.......but then I noticed Mac (the 9 YO) had it running up his legs. So I discontinued the Pred.

I swear, I thought kids couldn't get sick in the summertime...LOL!!!

It'is not a raised rash is it. My son's dr thought he had Fifths Disease and a week later it had raised up. Come to find out he was on a new med and was having an allergic reaction to the meds. He showed me pictures of fifths and it looked like that. But I would, being me, take the kids to the doc. Better to be safe. IMO

Tiny, Tiny bit raised up. But the clincher for me was the fact that his brother has it too!! SO whatever it is, is contagious obviously, so I have to cross off Contact Dermatitis, Allergy, etc.

Looks like fifths disease to me. I had it 2 years ago. When I got hot the rash would show up more. The rash can come and go for a couple of weeks. I also ran a real high fever before the rash appeared.
