I have a few chickens for eggs right now, and in the future plan on raising some birds for meat as well.
I'm wondering if there's anyone in the san francisco bay area who processes their own birds and would be willing to let me come out some day and watch/help/learn while they do it. It seems like processing is one of those things that you could learn from a blog (and thank you to everyone who has posted wonderful write-ups and photos, btw, they're very helpful) but it would just be a lot clearer if I could participate in person.
I understand that having some newbie hang around while you're processing isn't everyone's idea of a good time. But if there's someone out there who enjoys passing along the knowledge, I would really appreciate it. I live in the south bay (San Jose) but I'm willing to drive quite a ways.
