anyone know if this is a good incubator?

Good news about the eggs! I've 12 in lock down right now.
I worry at that high a humidity. In lock down, I aim for 40-50% humidity. Houston has higher ambient humidity than Austin. Don't stress over it. How large were the air cells when you candled? There are candling videos and guides in BYC and online that you can compare too. If the egg doesn't lose enough moisture, the chick will drown. Each location, each incubator, each species has different needs for good hatching. Use this as a learning step and see what works for you.

Several places on line suggest opening the vents and leaving them open to allow oxygen to the developing chicks. I pulled all my plugs and don't use them.
I have a missing hen and that means more chicks. I wish I were wishing for more chicks.

i haven't had good luck with hatching quail so far. once my hens start laying i want to hatch more babies again but i want more than 1 (1 out of 26!!). i think that last time it was the incubator, and high humidity issues. this next time i want to be extremely prepared. I really don't know humidity issues and what i should do about that, and i need to find a second hand hydrometer to use for backup.
so, anyone had any experience with this incubator?
what should my humidity be at?
anyone know of a good hydrometer?
thanks!
I am not familiar with this incubator, but it seems to have good ratings, so I was thinking about get one.
I wish I could fine someone who has one and get some feedback.

I own it used it twice so far getting ready to use it again in a few weeks great hatch rates and i havnt had any oroblems with the humidity controlling or the auto heat and fan funtions i love this thing just make sure ur eggs dont sit in a bad position when u notice them auti turner is good too easy to use

@Ravenlover is this one that you looked into buying?
Yes. I have been reading up on it and thinking about it for a month. I am getting a Back and Siver Maran rooster and a couple of the same breed females from a friend of mine that raises them. I had been looking at this incubator for a couple of weeks and desided to purchase right before Thanksgiving and they were sold out everywhere, so I thought I might purchase one since they are finally available. I just wish I could get feedback from someone that has one.

Thanks

I appreciate the information. I am going to order one right now. That exactly what I wanted to know. I have only been raising chickens since March 3rd of last year and have never hatched any. So many people have been talking about how much fiddling they have to do to get a decent hatch rate, I was a little intimidated since I have no experience. Of course I will read everything I can get my hands on when the time comes. Thank you once again.

I just got through placing my order with Amazon. It will be here Monday....
I wanted a decent incubator, but I don't a large one or a real expensive one because I won't be hatching a lot.
Appreciate it greatly!
