to the Houdan, but only has four toes and is all black in color. It lays white eggs.

If you are looking for a good, cold hardy calm friendly hen try the Rhode Island Red, but there are many more just wait for these folks to tell you about them. Good luck either way you cannot go wrong.​
 
Hey there! Thanks for the info! I have two Production Reds, which are a mix of the Rhode Island and something else. They should start laying in a month or so. I just happened to see this ad on Craigslist for Crevecoeurs, and thought about getting one. They're really pretty.
