Anyone know of a butcher who will process chickens in/around E. TN?

I admit it. I don't want to do it. I rather pay someone else than process my own chickens. I just want two things... that they be clean (the facility) and that they will kill them humanely. No conveyor lines like factory farm operations. I don't want my chickens (or any for that matter) to be "redskins".

I don't mind driving into GA or NC either. I know some butchers will do it... but the ones I have called locally think I'm crazy to pay someone to do it. Say that there isn't enough money in chickens for them to do it.


Anyone know of a place?

nope, and I've looked many a time.

I am trying to find some butchering buddies though... as I'm tired of doing the deed alone.

I guess I need to make some friends too. I'm still hoping that maybe there is one. Maybe make friends with a butcher who can do it "under the table".
