Anyone know the difference

Hi does anyone know the differences to look for between a barred rock/Plymouth Rock and a cuckoo Maran?

A marans has feathered feet I think

Rocks have yellow legs, Marans have white. Marans may or may not have leg feathering depending on what breeder/hatchery.

Cuckoo Marans lay darker eggs than Barred Rocks.

The cuckoo and barred patterns are also slightly different. You generally see people say that cuckoo is darker and smudgier or imperfect compared to barring, which is more crisp. Between that and the legs, you can usually tell.

I also have one who’s darker and more smudged but she’s much bigger than those too reckon she’s a Marans

Cuckoo marans have far less white, are darker than barred rocks, have a more muddled pattern, and they have gray legs (opposed to the stark yellow legs of the barred rock).

Leg colour is hard to see. Looks like a Maran to me.
