I have pics of it next to lavender duckling. I have an idea but wanted to see what everyone thinks the color might be. I have only had one of this *unknown* color hatch so far. Any Guesses ???? before I reveal the color of possible parents.

I have 3 that have chocolate heads but the tail have lots of bluish feathers on them...I have no ideas about them either

It is the one in the middle- chocolate to the left of him and lavender on the right side.

There is a Lavender drake and Chocolate pied drake. The girls consist of black pieds, chocolate barred pieds, lavender, and a silver(double blue gene). I do not know any of the genetic background of the adult bird other than their phenotype.

I can only come up with Lilac which would be from chocolate pied drake X silver duck mating. That is my guess, anyways.

I was wrong...but I think the one pictured with chocolate heads with blue tails are Lilac. They will probably look like duck in the 2nd pic under Rare Feathers Farm's post located here-

Now if I could just figure out the color of one in the top pictures next to the lavender duckling...

The first one, next to the Lavender(is the Lav a Self Blue? it's hard to see), is probably a Silver. I have had some that take longer to color in than others. They also sometimes start off as a "beige" color and start to develop the Silver color during their juvenile molt. I have a few right now and, if you'd like, i can try to get a couple pictures tomorrow if the weather is nice.

The ones with the Chocolate heads & Bluie tails are Blue Fawns(AKA Lilacs)

Hi Bleenie,
I was hoping you would see this post. Yes, I would very much appreciate some pics. The only reason I didn't think it is a silver is bacause these came from a pen with Lavender drake and Chocolate Pied drake with black pied hens, chocolate pied barred hens, a lavender hen and a silver hen.

I am excited that I have Blue Fawns

and since the Chocolate drake must be baby daddy- they will be girls !

,
unless these are coming from hidden genes from some of the other girls...I am going by wysiwyg (what you see is what you get).

I had a few Blue fawn drakelets this year but most fo them were little girls, their daddy was also a Chocolate. The "main momma" of my blue fawn babies is also a Blue Fawn and so far every clutch she's hatched has been almost ALL Blue fawns with a couple Chocolates.

This same momma gave me one of the prettiest Lilac hens this year, she actually gave me 2 and i really regret selling the other one.. especially now that i know how this one i have turned out!

Here are some pictures of one of the Silver ducklets I have right now. She is losing her "beige" color and getting her silver in.. even in transition she is just beautiful, i think.

I got some REALLY pretty Self Blues from one of my hens this year too, but for some reason the drakelets colored in right away but the girls are taking a LOT longer to get thier blue in, even though they were all Identical when they were little babies. This is my first year with Self Blues though so I'm excited to see how the girls turn out.

Thank for posting the pics Bleenie,

I will post some more pics of her when she feathers in more. I thought that I only had the one like that, but I think I have one more in a younger brood. I thought was going to be white(the duckling was yellow) it has just a few feathers coming in like the color of the other one..
