Hey y'all! Right now, I've got a variety of 10 week old runner ducklings. Some are from Metzer, some I hatched. I am only keeping one drake and trying to choose between a fawn+white and a black drake, both from Metzer.
I have two blue hens, two black hens, one fawn+white (all from Metzer), and one silver, one chocolate with a white bib, and two blue'ish-mocha+white that I hatched from a brother/sister pair of local mixed runners.
Which drake would produce the most unique-colored runner ducklings when bred with the different colored females that I have? I'd really love some lavenders! Is that even possible with the colors I currently have?
I'd love to keep both drakes for more color variety, but I will not keep more than one runner drake at a time ever again lol. Learned that lesson the hard way...the dirty wee buggers lol.
Anyone with a better understanding of duck genetics have any suggestions for me? It'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
